Hans Wilsdorf founded Tudor in 1926 to offer Rolex robustness at a more approachable price, and its dive watches went on to serve the French and American navies. Revived in the 2010s around the Black Bay, the brand has built its own calibres in Le Locle since 2015. Several current movements carry METAS Master Chronometer certification.
